Have you checked the App Store?

I recently searched for Ministry Apps.  Wow… it’s amazing.   If you have a unpredictable schedule these ministry apps are great.  Listen to teaching, read devotions, check the event schedules.  Thoroughly enjoying the Mark Hankins Ministry app.   It’s good to laugh at ourselves, our situations, and the Devil … Ha Ha Ha… I get it now!!!

I think it said there were 734 apps the last time I checked.  Surely there is an Ministry app out there 4 U.

Is Sickness your Friend? Improving communication skills.

“You know I just don’t feel like it today.  Maybe some other time.”   How many times have we heard people say that?  Sometimes it may be true but how many of us have said that and were not thinking?   Few hours later hmmmm…I don’t feel very good.

How many times have you used sickness to bail you out of a situation?  In that instant. Sickness became your Best Friend.  I know it is a difficult thing to just be honest and say…”You know…I’m just not interested in going to that.  We can find something else to do later but I want you to go ahead and enjoy that activity with someone else who likes to go shopping at 4:00 am.   Have fun… let me know all about it.”

“You know I just bought a fresh steak and I just want to stay home cook a great meal and read a book tonight.”   Yes I have literally said that… and you know my friends survived a night without me.  They know I’m a great cook so they understood although they were disappointed.

Just being honest with people will set the stage for being a healthier person.  When we lie to people it has a tendency to cause stress in our own body.  The truth will set you free and in this case keep you free from making yourself sick.

Need to improve your communication skills.  Dr. Gary Chapman (Five Love Languages…etc) Website is a great place to start for learning the art of communication for any relationship.

Let’s keep ourselves healthy by NOT using sickness as an excuse when we would be better off communicating honestly with people.

What R U Spreading?

What r u spreading? N a rural setting we have trucks that spread fertilizer on the crops.  Sometimes it stinks very bad & sometimes it doesn’t.  Kind of like us as Christians when we r around other people.  R u spreading life or like many fertilizer trucks r u spreading a stench that wreaks 4 days? Tip of the day…don’t write bad stuff on tips. Lord bless r sister & renew her. We all make mistakes.   #Christianity  #relationships #grace

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!   Hope everyone can find some time today to sit back and reflect over what all God has done in your life during 2012.

Seems like everyone is thinking “God’s going to do a new thing in 2013.”     Sounds good and I think most of us are wanting to see the church become a viable solution to the hurting.  No more games, no more politics in church but getting down to the work that Jesus died for.

That’s what we and the world needs.

May we all strive to be truly Christlike to everyone around us.   I heard this from someone somewhere and it kind of stuck.  “The only Jesus some people may see is the Jesus in you and the Jesus in Me.”

When people look at your words and actions do they see Jesus?  If not then read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Get to know Jesus and how He really acted so you will know   WWJD?

Is Sickness your friend? Sunday Morning Sickness (SMS)

Sunday morning sickness (SMS). Let’s be honest here for the sake of the youth in the church. Teenagers and young people are a bit more honest that some adults that “play” church.

Are you really sick Sunday morning or are you sick of “church”? Tired of playing the games, sick of the politics and wish your Pastor could have a divine intervention and preach something worth listening to?

This is another way sickness invites its way into your life. If you wish you were sick so you didn’t have to go to church then be honest with yourself for the sake of your children, other family members and your own health. If you want to be sick to avoid the Sunday morning service then be prepared to have Sunday morning sickness. If your teenagers are having Sunday morning sickness then wake up and ask them to tell you the truth and listen. Do not get on to them for being the only ones honest enough in the family to see that something needs to change.

One way to defeat Sunday morning sickness is to be honest about your situation. Then pray and ask God what to do. Don’t let sickness tempt you to allow itself into your life. Be honest and be healthy.

Stay tuned as we continue to prepare ourselves to walk in Divine Health.
